It interviews idol “Sea☆A” from Singapore that releases a debut single “DREAM SHOOTER” on August 10.

　Sea☆A’s members (Beryl,Valerie,Wynnie,Estelle)were working as maids in a Maid Café which was located in the famous Anime convention in Singapore named AFA (Anime Festival Asia), and they have been scouted because as they were very attractive. All of the members are Japanese Anime and culture OTAKU’s.

　Recently they were performing as the opening act for May'n’s ASIA TOUR 2011「UNITE!!」which became showcased their skills and talent to Asian Anime fans.

　We have taken this opportunity to interview them since we were very interested in their potential as anime song singers. The members talked to us about their new songs and Anime, as well as their impression for Japan with passion. Hope you enjoy this interview and check out Sea☆A!!

――How do you feel about releasing your debut CD,「DREAM SHOOTER」in Japan？

Valerie：We’re so excited and surprised that we can get this chance. We’re growing up with Japanese Anime, such as “DRAEMON”, “POKEMON”, “SAILOR MOON” as well, so when we heard that our song is going to be the ending theme song of “Cardfight!! Vanguard”, we were happy about that.

Wynnie：When we were young, we love to listen to Anime songs and thought, “How amazing if I could sing own songs for Anime”, but we never thought that there would be a chance to do that because we live in South East Asia. But now, it is really happening and dream come true！

Estelle：It’s kind of strange because when we’re young, we always used to sing and play the songs of Anime. Sometimes I sang along with ending theme songs but now our song is the ending theme of “Cardfight!! Vanguard”！

――How was the recording of 「DREAM SHOOTER」？

Beryl：It was very fun！ The producer, Ito- san was a really efficient person. When we first stepped into the recording studio, all of us were so nervous because it was first time to record . But Ito-san encouraged us, and told us “You can do it.”

――Was it hard to sing in Japanese？

Beryl：Not really. We have been seeing Anime since we were young, so we know how to sing Anime songs in Japanese.

Wynnie：All of us have been copying and singing Anime songs since when we were young, so we learned how to sing in Japanese naturally.

Valerie：So we sang with a little advice from the producer , Ito-san. It wasn’t very difficult at all.

――Are you studying Japanese now？

Estelle：Yes！ The Anime song happened because of our interest in the Japanese culture. During Anime, cute girls and boys speak Japanese fluently and I was like “Oh, I wonder if I could speak like them , that would be amazing ”. So I decided to take Japanese classes.

Beryl：Me and Valerie took classes for the basic Japanese. Now we can pick up the key words from the sentences. It’s really fun！

――Could you tell me about a little bit for the “DREAM SHOOTER”？

Valerie：It’s a really passionate song. When we first heard the demo, we discussed about the lyrics and the meaning of the song. Then we realized the song is actually singing about our stories.

Wynnie：When we listened to the song first time, I was almost cried. It touched my feelings because we always dreamt to be a star, but we thought it was impossible. Now, it is really happening！ This song is telling us that we can make it. This song has message saying “don’t give up, you can do it”. I was so moved by that message. I can understand a little bit more of Japanese than other members, so I told the other members the meaning of this song. We wanted to share this feeling with our fans.

――Do you have any favorite phrases in particular？

Beryl：I have two. First one is “Isshoni Shoumei Shiyou”. When we performed this song in “May'n ASIA TOUR 2011「UNITE!!」”, when I sing this part I was asking everyone to “Join Me！ Let’s enjoy together！” so that’s why this part is impressive for me. The second one is “Minna No Egao yu-ki wo kureru”. When I sing this, I was looking to the eyes of a listener in the audience, then the person was smiling at me. It gives me energy, and I was so encouraged.

Valerie：For me, it’s “Afuredasu Jounetsu”. This is the part of the song that starts to get very excited. When I sing this part, I get really excited and feel my power increasing, like singing with all my passion and love for Anime and this song. It’s like my energy ball exploding.

Wynnie：”Hitori Hitori no kagayaki-de Twinkle Star！” is my favorite part. When I first heard this phrase , I almost cried. It’s telling each one of us that we can shine like a twinkling star. I thought if I living in our country, it’s really difficult to do that but this phrase telling me “you can do it！”. We’d love to deliver messages to the audience as well.

Estelle：For me , it’s ”Tsugi No Yes , No”. Our debut and releasing the CD was such a big decision for me, so I was thinking “Should I say YES, or No？”. But this phrase was telling me “You shouldn’t be afraid.” And also other favorite line is “Zettai！ Yume wo nerae！”.Those two lines are the highlights in the music for me.

――What comes to your mind when you came to Japan？

Sea☆A：Anime World！ Center of THE OTAKU!!

Valerie：This is everything that we wanted to experience when we were watching Anime. We took the DENSHA(train), ate ONIGIRI,(rice ball), and there are lots of vending machines in train stations…

Estelle：I was surprised about the number of vending machines which is good because when we feel hot, we can buy cold drinks anytime！

Wynnie：Everywhere is just like the Anime, so we are so excited about that. One time we saw a primary school student with uniform and yellow hat, we said “Oh my god it’s Chibi-Maruko!!”., And also when we saw the high school students, the uniform was so attractive.

Beryl：Sakura trees were amazing too. The flowers had actually already fallen so we hope that if we get the chance, we ‘d love to picnic under a Sakura tree. We’d also like to try to wear a Kimono or Yukata！

Valerie：Two days ago, we took a trip to Akihabara for the first time. It was so amazing for me because everytime I saw a picture of Akihabara and I wondered how it was like. When I stood in front of Animate Akihabara , I was speechless.

Wynnie：She was screaming all the time when we were in Animate Akihabara.

――What would you like to do in Japan next time？

Valerie：If we can , we’d like to go to Disney land and Disney Sea.

Estelle：And Pokemon center!!

Beryl：GUNDAM cafe...

Wynnie：Nikko Edo-wonderland!! I love “NARUTO” so I’d like to try to be a Ninja one day!!

――What got you interested in Japanese Anime？

Valerie：When we were young, we sit in front of the TV and watch Japanese Anime. We thought that this is something that we never saw before and I felt it was really unique.

Wynnie：The Seiyu’s(voice actor) voice was so cute and the story was so interesting.

Beryl：I started with reading Shoujyo-Manga(comic for teen girls) and when I grew older, I got to know about Anime and the different joys of Anime and Manga.

Estelle：When we were 6 or 7, the Japanese Anime such as Sailor Moon and Pokemon were being shown on TV. We were so attracted about the magical things and cute characters.

――Was it aired in Japanese？

Wynnie：It’s aired in dubbed in Chinese but it was also very cute. After we heard the original Japanese voice, it got to us . It’s cuter and more attractive.

Valerie：Then we started collect anime figures, stickers, and cards.

――What is your favorite Anime and characters ？

Beryl：I like “MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED DESTINY”. And my favorite character is…

Wynnie：(Speak to Beryl) Your face turning to red！

Valerie：She’ll be so excited about that.

Estelle：(Speak to Beryl)Introduce your boyfriend！

Beryl：(laughing)My favorite character is Athrun Zala, because he is very cool person, cool minded and he is team leader.

Valerie：I like “InuYasha” because he is a dog and I think it’s very funny that he is such a bad ass , but Kagome says to him “Osuwari(sit)”, he will sit suddenly. I like that part and I think he is so attractive in that way. A girl in this Anime, Kagome who is high school student and she is wearing uniform all the time, so I started like Seifuku(uniform) since I watch this.

Wynnie：I like “NARUTO” and “ONE PIECE”. The characters have no power or skills for the battle first time, but they never give up and keep trying to become a strong person. I like the spirit of these characters and I learnt a lot of things from these. Each of these are very funny, cheerful and have serious parts so I love them a lot.

Estelle：All the time, my favorite Anime is “Cardcaptor Sakura”. Every single time her costume is really pretty and I’m so excited about that. I like Sakura, and also Kero-chan,Shaoran-kun. I always wanted to be Sakura because she has such a cute partner！ CLAMP, the production of making Anime like “Cardcaptor Sakura” always captivates me and always makes me happy when I watch them.

――Who’s your ideal Anime song singer？

Sea☆A：May’n-san!!!

Beryl：We got travel with her, to perform as opening act for the May'n ASIA TOUR 2011「UNITE!!.」.

Wynnie：We watched every performance and rehearsal and we learned a lot from that.

Valerie：We were really touched by her passion, skills, live performance, stage presence, all of that was so inspiring. We hope to be like her.

Estelle：We were so nervous because it was our first time tour, but she tries to help us in whatever she can. She is perfect and a true example of an Anime song artist.

――Could you give a little message for Japanese fans？

Beryl：To the fans, I hope that our song inspires you and cheers you up when you are feeling down and tired. Please check out our music video which is a really cheerful one!!

Valerie：Please check out our song, and after you check out our song, then please watch our music video, and after you watch our music video, please listen to our song again. When you do that, you will have a new feeling and you will be able to imagine us cheering in your mind whenever listen to our songs. I hope you will be able to feel the passion from us.

Wynnie：To the Anime lovers, we all love Anime and now we got a chance to sing for Anime song. This is the begging of our dream！ With all of your support, we can get more opportunities to sing Anime songs and grow as better singers. Enjoy watching the Anime and Anime songs together with us!!

Estelle：We want to encourage you that no matter you are going through in life. Don’t give up no matter what difficulties are present.
